Why it matters
The filing shows a sharp change in the balance sheet after the CRML exit. Cash and cash equivalents rose to A$296.30 million from A$20.02 million, an increase of A$276.27 million. Net assets also rose to A$1.08 billion, and profit after tax from continuing operations was A$930.59 million, compared with a A$96.79 million loss a year earlier.
OptimistFi's case is that European Lithium's value depends on turning exploration assets into something investible or monetizing them while funding the business. This filing helps on funding, but the A$1.28 billion gain is a one-time item, so it does not by itself show lasting operating strength. The year also included A$129.32 million of share of net losses of associate and A$163.09 million of impairment of investment in associates.
The statement of comprehensive income also shows A$7.92 million of other income and A$12.09 million of gain on fair value of financial assets through profit or loss. Total assets rose from A$289.42 million, and liabilities fell to A$4.93 million from A$115.16 million. Transaction costs with the sale of CRML shares were A$8.05 million, and transaction costs for the CRML convertible note transaction were A$16.06 million.

What's next
The filing says IFRS 18 becomes effective for the group on 1 January 2027. That standard will change how operating profit and other subtotals are presented, but it does not change the year ended 30 June 2026 figures.
A later report will matter most if it shows the A$296.30 million cash balance holding up and the CuFe stake adding value. If cash falls back or the portfolio moves do not feed results, the funding case weakens.
