Why it matters
Loan originations were about 6.2 times quarterly revenue. That shows how much volume sits behind current earnings.
The release says interest income was the main driver of revenue. It rose as the loan portfolio grew on faster origination volume across a larger dealer network.
Credit metrics also improved. Delinquencies fell 1.67 percentage points and recovery rates rose 3.3 points from a year earlier.
OptimistFi's case is that CPSS can create value only if growth keeps coming while underwriting and funding discipline restore spread economics that have compressed since the 2022 profit peak. This quarter supports that view.
The counterweight is that total operating expenses still rose to $121.8 million, with interest expense making up about 58% of the total. The company is still paying to fund that growth.

What's next
Management will host a conference call on Monday, October 26, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. Eastern Time.
Another quarter with originations above $815.3 million and delinquencies near 12.29% would reinforce the case. Weaker credit performance or higher funding costs would cut against it.
