What happened
Capstone Holding Corp. (NASDAQ: CAPS) said preliminary July and August organic revenue rose 7.6% to about $14.0 million. Organic gross profit rose 6.5% to $3.5 million. The company said the figures include Instone, Carolina Stone and Canadian Stone Industries on a comparable basis, as if each had been owned throughout both periods. It issued the update on October 1, 2026.
Through August, year-to-date organic revenue increased 4.6% to about $48.1 million, while organic gross profit rose 6.5% to $12.5 million. The release says the July and August numbers run through August 31, are preliminary and unaudited, and may differ from full third-quarter results.

Why it matters
OptimistFi's case is that Capstone must show overhead leverage and self-funded cash generation before financing needs become a constraint. This update strengthens that case because year-to-date organic gross profit is growing 1.9 percentage points faster than organic revenue. That suggests sales growth is turning into more profit, not just more volume. That matters most for a company that needs leverage before financing pressure builds.
The release also says Capstone kept growing organically even as the broader building-products market contracted. The limit is clear. The figures are preliminary, unaudited and subject to change, and the company says full third-quarter results may differ. Investors should not put too much weight on the current run rate.

What's next
Capstone said it will report third-quarter results in its Quarterly Report on Form 10-Q. That filing will be the next dated check on whether July and August momentum held through September. Investors will watch whether the year-to-date trend carries into the full quarter.
A stronger case would show the same revenue and gross profit pattern across the full quarter. A weaker one would show that September narrowed the gap or erased the growth seen in the release. If September held up, the quarter would look closer to the July and August pattern.
