Why it matters

OptimistFi's case is that Wise works if its low-cost, transparent cross-border money network keeps taking share while revenue turns back into durable per-share earnings after the FY2026 margin reset. This filing strengthens that case by showing more capital return and more scale in the core business. Wise said it supported around 19 million people and businesses, processed over $240 billion in cross-border transactions and saved customers over $3 billion in fiscal year 2026.

The buyback matters because treasury repurchases can support per-share results if the company keeps executing toward the cap. The main caveat is that the filing shows a ceiling, not a completed end point. The final size of the program still matters. The operating figures show scale, while the cap still leaves room for execution to fall short of the maximum.

What's next

Wise says the Buyback can continue until repurchases reach up to £405 million. More purchases toward that cap would support the share-return part of the case. A slower pace would leave this filing as a snapshot of scale rather than a finish line.

The next test is whether the company keeps repurchasing Class A ordinary shares under the program. If the buyback continues, investors get a clearer read on capital return. If it stalls, this filing still stands as evidence of operating scale in fiscal 2026.
